Proper care can help maintain the appearance and condition of your jewelry. Because materials, finishes, stones, and decorative elements may vary between pieces, always review the product description for information specific to your jewelry. 

General Jewelry Care

To help maintain your HoneyxCartel jewelry:

  • Handle jewelry gently, especially pieces featuring stones, charms, chains, or other decorative elements.
  • Avoid pulling, bending, twisting, or placing unnecessary pressure on delicate components.
  • Remove jewelry carefully and avoid forcing threaded or decorative pieces.
  • Keep jewelry away from harsh chemicals, household cleaners, and abrasive products. 
  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, oils, hairsprays, and other beauty products whenever possible. 
  • Dry jewelry thoroughly if it becomes wet before storing it.
  • Store jewelry in a clean, dry location when it is not being worn.  

Cleaning your Jewelry

Cleaning requirements may vary depending on the material and construction of the piece. For routine maintenance, gently wipe your jewelry with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth to remove oils, residue, and fingerprints.

Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or rough cleaning tools unless they are specifically appropriate for the material of your jewelry. Pieces containing stones, charms, plating, adhesives, or other decorative elements may require additional care.

Plated & Decorative Jewelry

Plated finishes and decorative components can naturally experience wear over time.

To help preserve their appearance:

  • Minimize prolonged exposure to water and moisture
  • Avoid direct contact with perfume, lotion, oils, and chemicals
  • Do not scrub decorative or plated surfaces aggressively
  • Store pieces separately, when possible, to help prevent scratching or tangling.

Normal wear may vary depending on frequency of use, body chemistry, environment, and how the jewelry is cared for. 

Storage

When you're not wearing jewelry, keep it clean, dry, and protected. For best results, store individual pieces separately or in a jewelry pouch or compartment to reduce scratching, tangling, and contact with other jewelry.

Before Changing Your Body Jewelry

HoneyxCartel body jewelry is intended for healed piercings only.

Do not change jewelry in a piercing that is still healing unless instructed to do so by a qualified professional piercer. If you're unsure whether your piercing is fully healed, what size jewelry you need, or whether a particular jewelry style is appropriate for your anatomy, consult a qualified professional piercer before changing your jewelry.
